Aims, Skills and Learning Outcomes

Summary description of curricular unit
This curricular unit aims to present personal skills as fundamental tools for success in the job market and in life. From a theoretical framework, students will be invited to carry out practical dynamics, with the objective of integrating knowledge through experience.

Objectives and learning outcomes

1. Recognize personal skills as an advantage for organizations;
2. Identify soft skills as potential for human development;
3. Recognize the importance of soft skills for interpersonal and professional relationships;
4. Develop personal skills based on experiential dynamics.

1. Adopt attitudes appropriate to different situations;
2. Know how to use the different soft skills;
3. Develop communication resources;
4. Develop teamwork, networking and problem solving skills;
5. Stimulate critical thinking, adaptability and resilience;

The syllabus contents were defined in close relationship with the objectives of this course in order to encourage students with a set of basic skills and knowledge for the development of resources that promote their potential in the field of fundamental soft skills.

Learning Methods

It is intended to encourage students to actively participate in classes and in the continuous assessment process, developing their critical capacity and skills for an effective personal study.
Active methods will be privileged through, namely, the use of case studies, group work and role-playing.
In order to enhance learning, audiovisual methods will also be used.

Continuous Assessment

 - Practical work, submitted through the e-learning platform: (40%)
- Individual written test: 2 (30% + 30%)

Under the General Regulation:

a) The effective attendance of students in class will be recorded and, if the number of absences per student exceeds 30% of the total number of contact sessions for each course unit, will be automatically transferred to the final evaluation of the normal season;
b) In the written tests and in the defined evaluation elements it is necessary to obtain a minimum grade of 7.5 points;
c) If the student misses or achieves a grade lower than 7.5 points in the tests or evaluation elements referred to in the previous number, he / she will be automatically transferred to the final evaluation of the normal season;
d) If the student misses or achieves a grade lower than 7.5 points in the second written test (held on the same date as the final written test of the normal season), he / she may require registration for evaluation at the time of appeal;
e) All written academic work provided for in the assessment (reports, case studies, etc.) must be submitted to the Turnitin database, available on the ISAG E-Learning platform, with a similarity rate up to 30% acceptable.

The methodologies considered take into account the characteristics of the course. Its experiential character, the use of case studies and other support materials, aim to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the course, from an applied or practical point of view.
