The curricular unit aims to introduce the science of law. Special focus and development are given to the legal rule, sources of law, interpretation, and application of the legal rule. The various branches of law are also described, business law and, in this regard, the basic principles regarding commercial companies are mentioned (with special attention to private limited companies and public limited companies).
Objectives and Learning Outcomes
A) Apprehension of the basic concepts linked to the legal world which allow autonomous study of the branches of law most closely linked to business management. B) Consolidation of the language of legal science. C) Knowledge of means of enforcing citizens' rights and of the remedies available to them. D) Knowledge of the various types of commercial companies, especially private limited companies, and public limited companies.
Skills to be developed Ability to read legislative instruments autonomously, understanding their application. Ability to maintain an agile relationship with jurists in the business world. Understanding of the existence of the main institutions of the typically legal universe (courts, notaries, registry offices) and their competences. Development of critical capacity regarding legislative production in the field of business management.

The contents of the curricular unit can be divided into two main groups:
Introduction to Law - aiming at students to understand and make operative the basic concepts of Law.
Commercial Societies - aiming at the students to know the predominant types of commercial companies and their regime and to be able to operate in the market in the work environment.
Such content allows students to be able, in the future and as managers, to make typical management decisions with the above data (which are, more than ever, essential).

Under the general regulation:
a) The effective attendance of students in class will be recorded and, if the number of absences per student exceeds 30% of the total number of contact sessions for each course unit, will be automatically transferred to the final evaluation of the normal season; b) In the written tests and in the defined evaluation elements it is necessary to obtain a minimum grade of 7.5 points; c) If the student misses or achieves a grade lower than 7.5 points in the tests or evaluation elements referred to in the previous number, he / she will be automatically transferred to the final evaluation of the normal season; d) If the student misses or achieves a grade lower than 7.5 points in the second written test (held on the same date as the final written test of the normal season), he / she may require registration for evaluation at the time of appeal; e) All written academic work provided for in the assessment (reports, case studies, etc.) must be submitted to the Turnitin database, available on the ISAG E-Learning platform, with a similarity rate up to 30% acceptable.

Being the Introductory Curricular Unit and aiming to familiarize students with the basic legislation of the sector in which they will enter professionally (acquiring and operating basic concepts of Law and knowing the most important legal regimes) makes the expository method together with the resolution of practical cases that simulate the application of the norms studied.
